viewwidth
The sturdy heroal RS 52 roll-
er shutter rod with a 52 mm
view width provides high
wind load resistance. With its
weight of 4 kg per square me-
tre it achieves excellent wind
load values and reaches the
wind resistance class 4 for ele-
ment widths up to 2700 mm.
Thanks to the new geometry
of the rod, it is possible to in-
tegrate element heights up
to 2200 mm in a box system
with a height of 180 mm.
Hail resistance test:
highest resistance classes
achieved
The blind, guide rail and front-
mounted box have all been
tested in heroal roller shutter
systems. The front-mounted
box of the roll-formed box sys-
tem heroal FMR 45 remained
mechanically undamaged un-
der bombardment by ice pel-
lets up to a diameter of 60
mm and as a result achieved
hail resistance class HW6.The
extruded heroal FME systems
could even reach hail resist-
ance classes above 7. The HFT
guide rails were bombarded
with an ice pellet with a diam-
eter of 50 mm and weighing
58 g. The mechanism reached
hail resistance class 5. The
blind of the heroal RS 37 was
tested with ice pellets weigh-
ing 30 g and travelling at 110
km/h. The blind was not me-
chanically impaired and clas-
sified HW 4. Bombardment of
the heroal RS 37 RC 2 rod oc-
curred with a 160 g 70 mm ice
pellet at a speed of 133 km/h
and was classified HW 6.
Stainless steel roller shut-
ters with extreme resist-
ance.
The double-walled stainless
steel alloy roll-formed roll-
er shutter rods are extreme-
ly sturdy and resilient. For
example, the anti-burglary
stainless steel systems are
resistance class RC 3. Both
the roller shutter rod with a
sightline of 37 mm as well as
the rod with a sightline of 51
mm are extremely long-lived.
In the stainless steel heroal
RS 37 RC 3 roller shutter both
the burglary resistance as
well as the hail impact test
were conducted by the Insti-

Ges.m.b.H (IBS). Bombard-
ment with a 160 g ice pellet
at a speed of 134 km/h did
not leave any traces. Both the

mechanism remained com-
pletely free of damage: at HW
7 this roller shutter slatted
blind achieved the maximum
hail resistance class.

6Wochen und Bedarf der Min-
destabnahme von 500 Kilogramm
für RAL Lieferungen.
