young professionals received
a certificate of honour on the
first day of the fair from the
hands of Otto Kentzler, Presi-
dent of the Central Association
of German Handicrafts (ZDH)
and fromWolfgang Cossmann,
President of the Federal Asso-
ciation Roller Shutters + Sun
Protection (BVRS).
While touring the special exhi-
bition President Kentzler was
impressed by the versatility of
the exhibits and the innova-
tiveness of the roller shutter
and sun protection techni-

cian handicraft – the exhibi-
tion pieces did after all also

honoured with the special
prize of the handicraft youth
as part of the Innovation Prize
2012 of the Messe Stuttgart.

Cossmann made clear dur-
ing their tour that freedom
to set up a company with-

out a licence did not mean
any qualification loss when
it came to the master crafts-
man’s diploma. Particularly
in the high class trades not
requiring a licence according
to Annex B1 of the Handicraft
Ordinance – such as the roller
shutter and sun protection
handicraft – taking the master
examination was more impor-
tant than ever to distinguish
oneself clearly from unquali-
fied competitors. The master’s
diploma remained the best
way, according to the mes-
sage of President Kentzler to
the journeymen in particular,
to provide an impressive dem-
onstration of their skill.
The special exhibition “Young
talents” is at Stand E 1125,
directly next to the Federal
Association Roller Shutters +
Sun Protection.
