Noch ein Rekord: Die größte Markise der Welt
Another record: the biggest awning in the world
Most of the fair visitors have
already noticed it: records
have been set in front of the
entrance to the Stuttgart Fair
too. The biggest awning in the
world with a width of 15 m and
a depth of 9 m, attached to an
outsized building wall, is hop-
ing to qualify for an entry in the
Guinness Book of Records.
The structure is complement-
ed by front-mounted roller
shutters, a door system and
window systems with inside
shading.
Visitors are meant to feel like
Gulliver in the land of giants
when they pass the monumen-
tal structure. Hence the title of
this impressive event is no co-
incidence: Gulliver’s Travels.
The tireless initiator of this
project is Olaf Vögele, the ex-
pert and staff member of Kleff
mann Publishing in Bochum.
Vögele inspired companies
from the industry to supply
components for the construc-
tion and to participate in its
financing. In addition, many
more R+T exhibitors with their
logos and stand numbers are
presented on the structure and
the over 1000 m²-awning cloth.
These companies made large
donations for this purpose.
On Thursday at 11:00 these
donations will be handed over
to representatives of three se-
lected organisations, including
UNESCO. Your fair newspaper
will report this event.
Die meisten Messebesucher

vor dem Eingang der Messe
Stuttgart werden Rekorde auf-
gestellt.DiegrößteMarkiseder
Welt mit einer Breite von 15m
und einer Tiefe von 9 Metern,
die an einer überdimensio-
nalen Hauswand befestigt ist,
versucht sich für einen Ein-
trag in das Guinness-Buch der
Rekorde zu qualifizieren. Die
Konstruktion wird durch Vor-
baurollläden, eine Toranlage
undFensteranlagenmit Innen-
beschattung komplettiert.
Wie Gulliver im Land der Rie-
sen sollen sich die Besucher
vorkommen, wenn sie die
monumentale Konstruktion
passieren. Nicht von ungefähr
daher auch der Titel dieses
beeindruckenden Events: Gul-
livers Reisen.
Unermüdlicher Initiator
dieses Projekts ist Olaf Vö-
gele, Sachverständiger und
Mitarbeiter des Bochumer
Kleffmann-Verlags. Vögele be-
geisterte Firmen aus der Bran-
che Komponenten für den
Bau beizusteuern und sich an
dessen Finanzierung zu betei-
ligen. Darüber hinaus werden
viele weitere R+T-Aussteller
mit Logo und Standnummer
auf der Konstruktion und
dem mehr als 100m
2
großen
Markisentuch präsentiert.
Diese Unternehmen haben
dafür kräftig gespendet. Am
Donnerstagum11:00Uhrwer-
den diese Spendengelder den
Vertretern dreier ausgewähl-
ter Organisationen, darunter
die UNESCO, überreicht. Ihre
Messezeitung wird darüber
berichten.
DaspassendeHandwerkszeug
für eine internationaleMesse:
Rechtzeitig zur R+T ist im Bo-
chumer Kleffmann-Verlag das
neue Branchenwörterbuch
erschienen. Ca. 2200 Fachbe-
griffe der Branche kann man
hier in sechs Sprachen finden:
Deutsch, Englisch, Franzö-
sisch, Italienisch, Spanisch
und Polnisch. Ein Wortin-
dex ermöglicht eine schnelle
Identifizierung eines Wortes
in einer Fremdsprache.
Das handliche Büchlein im
Format DIN A 6 liegt dem
Messekatalog und dem RTS-
Magazin bei. Außerdem ist
es u. a. auch auf dem Stand
des Kleffmann-Verlags (Halle
1, F40) kostenfrei zu bekom-
men.

A suitable tool for an interna-
tional fair: on cue for the R+T
the new industry dictionary
has been published by Kleff
mann Publishing in Bochum.
Approximately 2200 special-
ist terms from the industry
can be found here in six lan-
guages: German, English,
French, Italian, Spanish and
Polish. A word index permits
fast identification of a word in
a foreign language.
The handy little book in DIN
A 6 format is included with
the fair catalogue and the
RTS magazine. Furthermore,
it is also available free at the
stand of Kleffmann Publish-
ing (Hall 1, F40).
