sprechende Programmie-
rung vorgetäuscht werden,
dass sich jemand im Haus
befindet.
Ein weiteres wesentliches
Argument für die Auto-
matisierung ist der Demo-
grafische Wandel – zur Er-
leichterung imAlter entfällt
das lästige Hochziehen des
Rollladens.
Nicht umsonst hat der IVA
den Fokus der Verbandsar-
beit auf den Bereich Nor-
mung und Technik gelegt,
um ein ausreichendes An-
forderungsniveau in Sa-
chen Qualität und Sicher-
heit festzulegen. Insbeson-
dere auf der europäischen
und internationalen Ebe-
ne gibt es eine Reihe von
Normungsprojekten, die
sich direkt oder indirekt
mit Antrieben für Rollla-
den und Sonnenschutz
beschäftigen. Hierbei brin-
gen sich die IVA-Mitglie-
der kompetent durch ihr
Herstellerwissen in die
Normungsarbeit ein.

As in 2009, the Industrial As-
sociation Drive Technology
Roller Shutters and Sun Pro-
tection will be represented at
the R+T 2012 in order to pro-
vide information on questions
related to standards regarding
the automation of roller shut-
ter and sun protection appli-
cations. Roller shutter com-
panies in particular are to be
given information in personal
discussions in Hall 4 at Stand
C 25.5.
In addition, arguments for
the new installation and ret-
rofitting of automated roller
shutters and sun protection
technology will be provided.
The focus here will be on the
benefits produced by the au-
tomation of roller shutters and
sun protection. The subject of
energy saving will take pride
of place here. As studies have
shown, energy losses at win-
dows are reduced by up to 20
% with closed roller shutters.
As a result of automation, one
can make best use of this ad-
ditional effect, since it rules
out possible behaviour errors
on the part of the residents.
When it comes to sun protec-
tion, intelligent control can
achieve tremendous reduc-
tions in the cooling loads of
the building. On top of this,
the subject of safety with re-
gard to burglaries plays an
important role. Automation
prevents roller shutters re-
maining open without supervi-
sion. Furthermore, in the event
of the absence of the house
inhabitants, the appearance
of someone being at home can
be feigned through the corre-
sponding programming.
Another important argument
for automation is demograph-
ic change – the elimination of
the bothersome raising of the
roller shutter is a relief in old
age.
It is not for nothing that the
IVA has concentrated the work
of the association on the area
of standards and technology in
order to establish a sufficient
requirement level in the fields
of quality and safety. There
are a series of standardisation
projects on the European and
international level, which deal
with drives for roller shutters
and sun protection directly or
indirectly. The IVA members
provide an expert contribution
here as a result of their manu-
facturing knowledge in the
standardisation work.
