conferences and industry news
– and enclosed once more our
revised and expanded six-lan-
guage trade dictionary LiftLex.
LiftLex is now also available
online via our homepage – even
in nine languages – and can
also be retrieved via handy or
tablet. But it is also worth taking
a look at our current trade fair
newspaper, which you will find in your hotel
and at the trade fair and – this year for the
first time – at the stops of the shuttle buses.

In the course of 30 years,
interlift has established itself
as the leading international
trade fair of the lift industry. Our long-stand-
ing trade fair partner AFAG has done an
excellent job of organising the trade fair and
has continuouslymaintained and expanded
contacts with the international lift industry.
As ever, the quality of the interlift takes pride
of place and our trade fair goal is always
quality over quantity. As the technical spon-
sor of the interlift, VFA-Interlift e.V. is very
pleased about the almost seamless com-
ponent overview in the implementations of
the standard packages EN 81-20/50 of the
international lift industry. Digitalisation and
the Internet of things have reached the lift
industry and new technical components
and system solutions will be presented for
smart lifts. “Smart elevators 4.0 – digital in-
tegration of elevators in the building” is the
title of just one talk from the many subject
areas of the VFA-Forum, which are available
free to all exhibitors and visitors. Take a look
at the VFA-Forum in Hall 2 – a visit is highly
worthwhile. The VFA-Interlift e.V. wishes all
exhibitors and visitors interesting talks, a
successful trade fair and a pleasant stay
in Augsburg.

In den letzten zwei Jahren
haben wir weltweit an
verschiedenen Messen
teilgenommen. Die Messe
in China war gigantisch,
andere Messen waren fein
sortiert, manche schlecht
besucht und einige darun-
ter auch sehr exotisch. Die
Interlift hier in Augsburg
bleibt für uns die wichtigste
Messe, ein sicherer Wert.
Hier stellen wir immer un-
sere neuesten Erfindungen,
Projekte und die daraus
entstandene Produkte aus.
Dieses Jahr zeigen wir gleich drei neue
Produkte: Eine Gegengewichtsfang-
vorrichtung, einen Umbausatz um
bestehende Fangvorrichtungen auf den
neuen Stand EN 81-20/-50 zu bringen
und für kleine, mittlere und große
Fangvorrichtungen das Komplettsys-
tem „Hydromechanisches
Bremsfangsystem ohne Ge-
schwindigkeitsbegrenzer“.
Augsburg ist jedoch auch
außerhalb des Messege-
ländes äußerst sehenswert.
Für leiblichesWohlbefinden
steht der König von Flan-
dern in der Karolinenstras-
se, wer mehr auf geistige
Nahrung steht, dem emp-
fehlen wir Faust „ein Mit-
sommernachtstraum“ in der
Augsburger Puppenkiste...
In the last two years we have taken part
in various trade fairs. The trade fair in
China was tremendous, other trade fairs
had a great range on offer, some were
poorly attended and several very exotic.
The interlift here in Augsburg remains the
most important trade fair for us, a safe bet.
This is where we always exhibit our latest
inventions, projects and the associated
products.
This year we will be presenting three
new products. A counterweight device,
a conversion kit to bring existing catch
devices up to the state of EN 81-20/-50
and for small, medium-sized and large
catch devices, the complete system
“hydromechanical brake system without
speed governor”.
However, Augsburg is also very well worth
seeing outside of the fairgrounds. Creature
comforts can be found at the ‘König von
Flandern’ in Karolinenstrasse while those
who seek spiritual sustenance can attend
Faust, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in
the Augsburger Puppenkiste theatre...

so lautet der Titel des
Filmwettbewerbs, zu dem die
Auszubildenden derMitglieds-
firmen des VDMA aufgerufen
waren. Die Preisverleihung fin-
det wieder auf der legendären
Standparty des VDMA am 18.
Oktober 2017 statt.
Wie in jedem Interlift-Jahr ver-
anstaltet der VDMA Aufzüge
und Fahrtreppen einen Film-
wettbewerb, der sich an die
Auszubildenden der Branche
richtet. Der YouTube Filmcon-
test findet alle zwei Jahre statt
und lässt die aktuellen Azubis
persönlich für die Industrie und
ihre Berufe werben. Diesmal
ist deren Aufgabe zu zeigen,
wie es nach der Ausbildung in der Auf-
zugsbranche weitergeht. Gemäß dem
Motto „Coole Aussichten. - Dein Blick in
die Zukunft.“ stehen diesmalVision und
Zukunft der Branche im Fokus.

The YouTube film contest takes place
every two years and lets the apprentices
advertise personally for the industry and
their professions. This time, their job is to
show what happens in the lift industry after
completing the apprenticeship. In line with
the motto “Cool prospects – your glimpse
of the future”, the focus this time is on
vision and the future of the industry. The
prize ceremony will once again take place
at the legendary stand party of the VDMA
on 18 October 2017.
This year, the VDMA stand party will take
place at the stand of its member company
Meiller Aufzugtüren. The VDMA invites all
of its members and friends to its traditional
stand party.
