The final decisions have been
made. Eleven winners will be
honoured the seventh Innova-
tion Award for key technical
developments in roller shut-
ters, doors/gates and sun-
protection systems. Awarded
by the organisers of the in-
ternational trade fair for roller
shutters, doors/gates and
sun-protection systems R+T
2009, which takes place from
10 to 14 February in Stutt-
gart, the Innovation Award is
well-established and enjoys
international recognition. An
eleven-strong panel of judges
made up of industry experts is
responsible for selecting the
winners.
Eleven experts pick
the eleven winners
Covering everything from
practical solutions that pave
the way to new market nich-
es to innovations based on
high everyday suitability, a
total of 94 products were
submitted for the 2009 In-
novation Award. Around one
third of these progressed to
the final judging stage on 10
January. The judges included
architects, technical asses-
sors, representatives of the
media, and the presidents of
the organising associations.
Headed by Professor Ger-
hard Hausladen, Professor of
building climate control and
domestic engineering at Mu-
nich University of Technol-
ogy, the panel discussed the
submissions at great length.
Majority decisions eventually
determined the eleven best
products. Key criteria in the
assessment process included
innovative quality, product
safety, market potential and
ease of use.
Award ceremony at
R+T 2009
The official announcement of
the winners and the presenta-
tion of the Innovation Award,
the only award specific to this
industry sector, will be made
on 10 February during the
R+T 2009 trade fair. Prizes
are awarded in the following
categories: roller shutters,
doors/gates, interior and ex-
terior sun protection systems,
other closure systems, and
drive and control systems.
In addition to three special
prizes, including an award for
outstanding energy efficiency,
the two best pieces of work
submitted by apprentices
and master craftsmen will
be recognised with the Youth
Award.

Die Jury unter Vorsitz von
Professor Gerhard Hausladen,
Ordinarius für Bauklimatik
und Haustechnik an der TU
München, traf ihreMehrheits-
entscheidungen für die elf be-
sten Produkte nach intensiver
Beratung. Ausschlaggebend
bei der Bewertung waren In-
novationsqualität, Produktsi-
cherheit, Marktpotenzial und
Nutzerfreundlichkeit.
Preisverleihung auf der
R+T 2009
Die offizielle Bekanntgabe der
Gewinner und die Verleihung
des Innovationspreises, der
einzigen brancheneigenen
Auszeichnung, finden wäh-
rend der R+T 2009 am 10.
Februar statt. Gekürt werden
siegreiche Produkte aus den
Kategorien Rollläden, Tore,
Innen- und Außen-Sonnen-
schutz,sonstigeAbschlüsse so-
wieAntriebeundSteuerungen.
Neben drei Sonderpreisen,
unter anderem für besondere
Energieeffizienz, werden auch
die zwei besten Gesellen- be-
ziehungsweise Meisterstücke
mit dem Handwerksjugend-
preis ausgezeichnet.
