strittig die europäische Leitmesse
der Aufzugswirtschaft, ihre Pforten,
und ich bin sicher: Wir werden uns
dort treffen!
2009 trotzte die Messe erfolgreich
der Krise, hoffen wir, dass die ge-
genwärtigen wirtschaftlichen Un-
sicherheiten uns nicht nachhaltiger
schütteln werden! Technisch stehen
für mich heuer Produkte zur Um-
setzung des Amendments 3 zur EN
81-1/2 imFokus des Interesses, denn
wenige Monate bevor diese Anfor-
derungen greifen, ist noch nicht zu
erkennen,welcheKonzepte sichhier
durchsetzen werden.
Ob es nun umEinrichtungen gegen uner-
wünschte Fahrkorbbewegungen geht, um
temporäre Schutzräume oder Energieef-
fizienz: Die auf der Messe vertretenen
Prüforganisationen werden gemeinsam
mit Ihnen Lösungen suchen und finden,
die sicher und wirtschaftlich sind – spre-
chen Sie uns an!

serer Fachzeitschrift LIFTjournal
begleiten wir dieWeltleitmesse
der Aufzugsbranche nun schon
beinahe 10 Jahre. Wir gratu-
lieren den Organisatoren vor
allemfür die kontinuierlich gute
Entwicklung der Messe, wozu
sicherlich auch der Standort
Augsburg positiv beigetragen
hat.Die Stadt liegt zentral in der
Mitte Europas und ist von den
vielen verschiedenen teilnehmendenNa-
tionen gut erreichbar. Wir sind gespannt,
welche Innovationen der internationale
Aufzugsmarkt auf der Rekord-interlift
2011 präsentieren wird.

ie interlift habe ich noch nie
verpasst. Es gab fast immer neue
technische Entwicklungen. Es war
und ist auch immer
einTreffen mit vielen
KollegenundBekann-
ten aus der Aufzug-
welt. Insbesondere in
Anbetracht der neuen
Kommunikationswe-
ge, bei denen das per-
sönliche Gespräch
immer weiter in den
Hintergrund gerät,
kann man hier die
persönlichen Kon-
takte pflegen. Speziell in diesem Jahr
erwarte ich Lösungen zu demThema A3.
Bei neuen Aufzügen scheint das Problem
gelöst zu sein. Bei Modernisierungen
hält man sich noch etwas zurück. Das

messe dabei, die sich
zugleich als großes Branchen-
treffen etabliert hat. AlsVerband
DeutscherMaschinen undAnla-
genbau (VDMA) repräsentieren
wir mit unserem Fachverband
Aufzüge und Fahrtreppen ca.
80% der Branche. Durch die
positive Entwicklung im Hoch-
bau befindet sich die Aufzugs-
branche derzeit in einem kon-
junkturellen Aufwind – obwohl
die allgemeine Verunsicherung
bezüglich der konjunkturellen Lage und
der Entwicklung des Euros Anlass zur
Sorge geben. Daher ist die interlift zum
richtigen Zeitpunkt am richtigen Platz
und bietet eine ideale Plattform für einen
intensiven fachlichen Austausch über
technische Neuigkeiten und positive
Impulse für die nächsten Jahre.

Messe, die AFAG Messen- und Ausstel-
lungen GmbH. Dafür möchte ich mich
ausdrücklich an dieser prominenten

he time has come once again: on
18 October interlift 2011 will open
its doors, indisputably the leading
European fair of the lift industry and I am
sure we will see each other!
In 2009 the fair defied the crisis success-
fully – let us hope the current economic
uncertainties will not
shake us more perma-
nently!
Technically my interest
is focused this year
on products for imple-
menting Amendment
3 to EN 81-1/2, since
only a few months be-
fore these requirements
take effect it is still un-
clear what concepts
will prevail here.
Whether it is a matter
of installations against unintentional cabin
movements, temporary shelters or energy
efficiency: the testing organisations rep-
resented at the fair will look for and find
solutions together with you which are safe
and economic - contact us!

I
have never missed the interlift. There
have almost always been technical in-
novations. It was and is always an op-
portunity to meet many colleagues
and acquaintances from the lift
world. Particularly in view of the new
channels of communication, where
personal discussions are increasingly
taking a back seat, one can cultivate
personal contacts here. This year I
am in particular expecting solutions
on the subject of A3. In the case
of new lifts the problem appears to
have been solved. When it comes
to modernisations there is still some
work to be done. The interlift forum
and visiting the various associations are
an absolute must.

of the industry with our Trade Association

Lifts and Escalators. Thanks to the posi-
tive developments in civil engineering, the
lift industry is currently experiencing an
economic upturn - although the general
uncertainty regarding the economic situ-
ation and development of the euro are a
cause for concern.
Consequently, interlift is at the right time at
the right place and offers an ideal platform
for intensive exchanges of expert knowl-
edge on technical innovations and positive
ideas for the coming year.
After many years in which safety and
technical innovation were core subjects,
we are convinced this time that energy and
resources will form the focus of attention.
Here the VDMA has presented the “BLUe-
COMPETENCE” initiative, which includes
sustainability, specifically with regard to
social, ecological and economic targets.
At interlift we encounter the entire lift
family – manufacturers, operators, testing
institutes and authorities. As chair of the
VDMA Lifts and Escalators I am particularly
looking forward to meeting many people
(again) for whom lifts and escalators are
not just a career, but also a vocation

Our appearance should reflect the quality,
innovation and technology
leadership that are lived

Especially interesting for
this year’s interlift is the
timing: The introduction
of the A3 annex to EN81/2
and the ever more intense
discussion about energy
efficiency gives the exhibi-
tion more actuality than
usual.
Of course we have picked
up on these trends and
provide solutions. We have
developed new products on our own and
have gone one step ahead: With selected
partner companies we have engineered
practical package solutions.

the interlift’s important anniver-
sary. We have now been accom-
panying the leading world fair of the lift
industry for almost ten years
with our trade publication
LIFTjournal. We congratulate

or ORONA, interlift has
always been an excel-
lent place for meeting and interact-
ing. This year, it will also be the setting
selected for presenting our new major
project: Orona IDeO – Innovation city. At
the previous edition of interlift, we showed
our commitment to sustainability, which
has made us the first industry company
to be certified in ECODESIGN according
to the ISO 14006 standard.
Our products have evolved
in line with this ECO phi-
losophy, and at this new
edition, we will show how
the Orona Energy Storage
System operates in one of
our Orona 3G lifts, as well
as specific solutions for a
number of sectors, such as
hospitals, with an example
of a lift for transporting beds
or strechers. On another
hand, in order to address
the growing demand for
renovations, we will also
have an example of the universal machine
for lift replacement. In summary, excellent
ORONA solutions will be on display at in-
terlift, and our entire team will be available
to offer our best service.
